The arms consist of a shield the main of which is split. Dexter is a turnip scowped on a field of azure oxonian, symbolising great appetite, but also noisiness. Sinister is a tyrwhit proper serant on fauf on a field of azure cantabrigian, symbolising mobility, grace and, strangely, Su Pollard. Fess is a rampant finger on a field or, signifying a willingness to point the way. The shield is crowned with a white rose, symbolising Yorkshire, which is also demonstrated in the three colours azure oxonian, azure cantabrigian and or, being the colours of Yorkshire County Cricket Club. The shield is supported by sheep rampant in troughs, indicating a reluctance to stand on ceremony and, if necessary, a willingness to be unbloodycultivated.
The motto "Fecerim id non, Raymonde" highlights a tradition of sound counsel and financial caution.
